As a graphic designer I've created logos, lettering, posters, sales brochures and marketing materials for restaurants, small businesses, corporations and non-profit organizations. As the Advertising Art Director of the Rocky Mountain News for seven years, I worked with many notable Denver advertisers. I have wide and varied experience with marketing and advertising campaigns, can give marketing direction tips, or talk the same language to your own marketing director.
As an illustrator and cartoonist I've done scene layout and background designs on TV cartoons for Hanna-Barbera Studios and I've illustrated children’s books. I work in a variety of styles, from classic cartoon to contemporary-modern. I produced all the character designs, layouts, pencils, inks and lettering for the comic book "The Wizard of 4th Street" for Dark Horse Comics. I've designed book covers and gold-stamped bindings for Easton Press.
While an instructor at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, I taught typography, print production, design theory, lettering, layout, advertising design, desktop publishing, graphic design history and creativity. I have a strong background in not only the "wherefores" of graphic design, but the "whys" and "whithers" as well. Also a versatile writer, I contribute frequently to The Bloomsbury Review, and assist in writing my clients’ advertising copy.
If you need experienced graphic design; illustration or cartooning with personality and panache—I'm your man. I strongly believe that your communication needs are my first priority and my job is to find a solution that truly works for you.
